Comments: Fast-Paced, Bloody & Funny!

The idea is this: You are a Sentinel Sphere, a small technological wonder of the mysterious Tall Man of the Phantasm films by Don Coscarelli. You start out on the alien Red Planet to learn the controls and basic maneuvers. You will then travel through a dimensional fork to the Morningside Mausoleum from the first movie and kill people who stray into places they shouldn't be. Once your mission is complete, you will then go back to the Red Planet for upgrades and head off to a new place (Perigord) to continue your progress. You can expect some bonus missions with objectives that will differ somewhat from the usual objectives. Some of those bonus missions may require killing characters from the movies or perhaps BEING other characters from the movies [Who? That's a little secret right now.]

Since this is a solo project, progress is certain to be painfully slow, but the good news is: The first level is nearing completion and when at least one working level is finished, I may release a working demo, so that my visitors can give me feedback via the Nurmweb Forum. By the way, these images and videos are not necessarily representative of the looks of the final product. Several of the backgrounds were thrown together for model-testing purposes. Trust me, as a true Phantasm Phan, I want it to look like part of the series. I also want to be the one to give longtime Phans of the Philms a chance to play a Phantasm-based video game. [By the way, during my research for this, I discovered a guy who made a MOD for the PC version of Doom 3 and it is based on the Phantasm movie quadrilogy. He is known as BladeGhost. Check him out! Here's a movie of it!]

One day, if I ever finish this blasted game thing, I may show it to Don Coscarelli and see what he has to say about it. Hopefully, since it's done as an "indie" project, like his movies for the most part, he may well see the good intentions I have with it as a tribute to the magic of the universe portrayed in his films. Incidentally, if you want to know anything about the Phantasm movies, go pay a visit to PhantasmArchives.net!

Look for more info on the game, like details on the control scheme, missions, upgrades, dialogue and more in the Dennypoo Forum. You may also find my MySpace profile kind of interesting.
